Gunman threatens pregnant woman and her mother-in-law

A pregnant woman and her mother-in-law have been threatened at gun point in an attempted hijacking outside Belfast's Mater Hospital.

A man walked up to them as they got into their car on the Crumlin Road on Friday at 20:00 GMT and threatened them with a gun.

He forced the women out of the car. Police officers, who were nearby made their way to the scene and the man abandoned the car and ran away.

Both women were left badly shaken.
