A man arrested by police investigating the murder of Jason McGovern in County Tyrone has been released on bail pending further inquiries.

The 21-year-old had been detained in Omagh area on Monday.

Mr McGovern, a 19-year-old from Tydavnet, Monaghan, was assaulted on two separate occasions during a night out in Omagh.

He was found dead in a house in County Monaghan hours later on New Year's Eve. He had suffered a head injury.

Mr McGovern's funeral took place on Monday.

Four men and a youth appeared in court on Saturday on charges of affray in connection with his death.
