Belfast flag protests: Chief Constable statement

7 January 2013 Last updated at 10:03 GMT

Police in east Belfast have faced a fourth consecutive night of loyalist violence over a decision to limit the days the union flag flies over City Hall.

Bricks, barriers and bottles were thrown at police, as hundreds of demonstrators gathered near the nationalist Short Strand area.

The PSNI have said it is too early to say if loyalist paramilitaries are orchestrating the disorder.

Chief Constable Matt Baggott is giving a news conference in Belfast.
