The two teenagers who died in a road accident on Saturday have been named locally as 18-year-old Kevin Conway and 16-year-old Lisa O'Donnell.

They died when their car collided with a lorry on the the Termon Road near Pomeroy in County Tyrone.

Lisa's cousin, Aisling McAleer, said the teenager's death was devastating.

"She was like a sister to me and I don't know how I'm going to live without her," she said.

"She lived life to the full, she didn't have a grudge against anybody - everybody loved her.

"She loved jiving, going around at the weekend going to all the country music. Everybody's just devastated."

Sinn Fein councillor Cathal Mallaghan said the deaths were a tremendous shock to the local community

"They were two very popular teenagers, the local community has been absolutely heartbroken since the news," he said.

The accident happened shortly after midday on Saturday. A man in his 30s was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which were not believed to be life-threatening.
