Newtownabbey bomb alert now over

A bomb alert which saw residents moved from their homes in Newtownabbey has ended.

Police had closed the Doagh Road at its junctions with Monkstown Avenue and Monkstown Road after the discovery of a suspicious object.

However, after an examination by Army bomb disposal experts, the object was found to be "nothing untoward".
