Philip Strickland murder: Police release 44-year-old man

A 44-year-old man who was arrested by police investigating the murder of Philip Strickland near Comber, County Down, has been released.

Mr Strickland, 36, was found with in a car on Quarry Road, off the Ballydrain Road on 11 January. He had been shot.

He was discovered in the front of the vehicle by passing motorists who tried to give him first aid. However, he was later pronounced dead in hospital.

The 44-year-old has been released pending reports to the PPS.

He had been detained in Comber earlier on Monday.
