Man faces dissident republican terrorism charges in Newry

Police investigating dissident republican activity in the Newry area have charged a 29-year-old man.

He has been charged with the collection and distribution of information likely to be of use to terrorists and the possession of articles likely to be of use to terrorists.

He is expected to appear at Newry Magistrates' Court on Saturday morning.

The charges follow a number of searches and seizures in the Derrybeg estate and Main Avenue area on Thursday.
