Woman stamped on and bitten in attack in Ardoyne, Belfast

A 45-year-old woman has been bitten, punched, kicked and stamped on during an attack in the Ardoyne area of north Belfast.

The victim was walking home shortly after 03:30 BST on Sunday when she was approached and assaulted by a number of people at Flax Street.

She was taken to hospital with an eye injury and bruising and bite marks to her body.

Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
