Omagh kidnap investigation: One released, four questioned

A 28-year-old man who was one of five people arrested over a kidnapping in County Tyrone has been released on bail pending further inquiries.

The four men and a woman were detained during a police operation at the weekend. One of the group was arrested in Scotland.

The others remain in custody.

Earlier on Monday, the PSNI were granted a further 36 hours to question the suspects about serious crime in Omagh.

The allegations include false imprisonment and blackmail.

Police said the searches were carried out on Saturday evening and Sunday morning in Omagh and in Scotland.
