Irish Prime Minister meets Pope

Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny is meeting Pope Benedict XVI at Castel Gandolfo in Italy later.

He is there is in his capacity as a member of a group representing centre-right political parties.

It will be the first time they have met since he criticised the Catholic Church over its handling of child sex abuse.

At that time, he referred to what he called "the dysfunction, the disconnection and the elitism" dominating the Vatican.
