Cannabis worth £380,000 recovered from Magherafelt house

A 28-year-old man has been arrested after cannabis with an estimated street value of £380,000 was seized in Magherafelt.

Thirty-eight kilos were recovered during a planned search of a house in Leckagh Drive on Tuesday evening.

They have been taken away for forensic examination.

A large sum of cash was also found by police during a subsequent vehicle search.

Local area commander, Ch Insp Sam Donaldson said: "This is another brilliant success in the fight against drugs for the Magherafelt area.

"This seizure was as a result of information received from the public and I am extremely grateful to the community for their assistance in this investigation.

"I can assure everyone that we are determined to tackle the issue of drugs and I urge anyone with information, no matter how small to report it to police or anonymously through Crimestoppers."
