Man in court over riot after Apprentice Derry Boys march
A Londonderry man is to face trial on 20 charges relating to rioting in the city following last year's Apprentice Boys march.
Caolan Kavanagh, 23, whose address was given as c/o Maghaberry Prison appeared at a preliminary enquiry on Thursday.
He was charged with riotous behaviour, possessing and making petrol bombs and attempting to damage police Land Rovers and an Apprentice Boys memoial hall.
All of the charges relate to 12 and 13 August 2011.
At the preliminary enquiry it was accepted that there was a case to answer.
Mr Kavanagh said he did not wish to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage.
He was remanded in custody and returned for trial to appear at Londonderry Crown Court on 20 September.
