Monkstown bus robbery: Three teenagers arrested

Three teenage boys have been arrested over the armed robbery of a bus in Newtownabbey.

The incident happened at Devenish Drive in the Monkstown area of Newtownabbey on Tuesday evening.

Two of the teenagers being questioned are aged 15, the other is 16.

Bus drivers had threatened to withdraw services from Monkstown estate due to such robberies. However, their union said a compromise had been reached.

Drivers had said evening services to the estate would stop at 19:00 BST on Wednesday, but they have agreed to keep the service running until 20:00 BST.

Unite's Michael Dornan said the buses would now terminate at Devenish Drive.
