Dr Janet Gray lights Belfast Paralympic Cauldron

Help

Hundreds of people were at Belfast City Hall to celebrate the passing of the Paralympic flame through Northern Ireland.

Spectators were entertained by a game of wheelchair basketball, before a procession of 150 flame bearers made its way from the Waterfront to the City Hall.

The event culminated with a free concert and the lighting of the cauldron by Dr Janet Gray, Northern Ireland's blind world disabled water skiing champion.

She said she was overwhelmed to be asked to carry out the ceremony.
