Pensioner dies in blaze at house in Downpatrick

A pensioner has died in a fire in Downpatrick, County Down.

The blaze took hold in the Bridge Street area of the town at 06.35am on Saturday.

The woman who died was in her 70s. The police have not yet released her name.

The fire is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.
