Dungannon man remanded over Cookstown rape

A man charged with raping a woman in Cookstown has been remanded in custody.

Ivo Sow, 25, of Drumcoo Green, Dungannon, was accused of committing the offence on 21 April.

A detective constable told Dungannon Magistrates Court the alleged victim was found in a distressed state and taken to hospital by ambulance.

She said the 27-year-old woman had woken up in hospital with no memory of how she got there or what had happened.

The detective objected to bail, saying police feared the accused may try to abscond.

The court was told he had breached his bail conditions several times while police investigations continued.

The judge remanded him in custody to appear again by videolink next month.
