Man charged over Ballymena rape; arrest over Ballynahinch attack

A 28-year-old man has been charged with raping a woman in Ballymena on 16 June.

He is expected to appear at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, a 20-year-old man has been arrested over the separate rape of a woman in Ballynahinch, County Down, last month.

A 17-year-old girl was assaulted in the Lisburn Road area of the town on the morning of Sunday 29 July. The man was arrested in the Newtownards area on Tuesday.

It comes a day after police said they wanted to speak to two men seen in the vicinity of the attack.
