Ardoyne gun attack on police - man is arrested

Ardoyne trouble Police came under attack in Ardoyne on the night of 12- 13 July

Detectives investigating a gun attack in which a number of shots were fired towards police in north Belfast have arrested a 57-year-old man.

The attack took place at Brompton Park in Ardoyne on the night of 12-13 July.

Immediately after the shooting, police said at least 10 shots had been fired from an automatic weapon, but no-one was hit.

They are treating it as attempted murder of police officers. The man was arrested in Ardoyne on Monday morning.
