Alliance Party spent £50,000 more than it brought in
The Alliance Party is spending more money than it is bringing in, according to the latest figures from the Electoral Commission.
In 2011, the party spent over £250,000 - £50,000 more than it took in. Sinn Fein remains the wealthiest political party.
NI's largest party, the DUP, has a healthy balance sheet.
The SDLP has doubled its donations but the UUP lost donations of £100,000.
The DUP doubled its income last year to more than £600,000.
Although Sinn Fein's income is down slightly, it raised more than £1.2m.
The SDLP, which has struggled financially in recent years, managed to double its donations and fundraising to around £150,000.
Income for the Ulster Unionist Party dropped by around £100,000 but cuts to spending meant it still had a small surplus at the end of the financial year.
