Two rescued after collision on County Down coast

Two people have been rescued off the County Down coast in an early morning operation by the Portaferry RNLI lifeboat crew.

The service was called out after an inflatable boat collided with a yacht in Strangford Lough, just off Killyleagh, County Down.

The collision occurred at about 02:00 BST on Friday.

Both people were brought ashore by the crew. One person was taken to hospital to be treated for a slight head injury.
