Seven charged after east Belfast trouble

Seven men have been charged with public order offences after disturbances in east Belfast.

The trouble took place late on Monday and in the early hours of Tuesday after the annual Somme commemoration parade which passed off without incident.

Police made nine arrests. Seven men, aged between 19 and 31, were charged and are due in court on Wednesday.

Two others, aged 15 and 28, were released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.
