A 32-year-old man has died following an accident on a farm near Glenanne in County Armagh.

It happened at the property at Mowhan Road in Armagh on Tuesday.

A police spokeswoman said the Health and Safety Executive of Northern Ireland (HSENI) has been informed and is leading the investigation.

In a statement, the HSENI said it offered sympathy to the farmer's family but was unable to comment further at this stage in the investigation.

Danny Kennedy, the Ulster Unionist Assembly member for Newry and Armagh, said he "expressed his heartfelt sympathy" to the man's family and friends.

"This young man comes from a well-known and highly respected family in County Armagh, and his tragic death will cause much heartbreak to his young wife and family," he said.

"My thoughts and prayers are with them all at this time."
