Two men have been arrested in Northern Ireland as part of a UK-wide operation targeting suspected online paedophiles.

The operation was led by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection centre (Ceop).

A PSNI spokesman said: "Due to the ongoing investigation we cannot state at this time where the searches or arrests occurred."

More than 140 search warrants were issued by 40 police forces across the UK during the raids.

A retired teacher, members of the armed forces and a scout leader were among 76 people arrested.

Some 80 children were removed from harm. Police said one in four children were found at raided properties.
