14-year-old dies after Carrickfergus accident

A 14-year-old boy critically injured when he was knocked down by a car in Carrickfergus has died in hospital.

The accident happened on the Larne Road in the town, close to Downshire Halt train station, on Monday morning.

The victim was Clarence Campbell, who was from the Carrickfergus area.

It is understood he was crossing the road when he was hit. Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
