Baby escapes injury in arson attack in east Belfast

A couple and their baby have escaped injury after a bin was set on fire at the back door of a house in east Belfast.

The fire at the home of the family was reported at about 01:25 BST on Tuesday.

The door was badly damaged, but the fire did not spread to the house at Westbourne Street.

Police are treating it as an arson attack and have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
