Larne security alert 'was bomb hoax'

A security alert in Larne, County Antrim, has ended after a suspicious object turned out to be a hoax.

The alert began at around 05:30 BST on Monday when the device was discovered on Victoria Road, close to the town's council offices.

Army bomb experts were called, the road was closed and residents were advised to move to the back of their properties.

The roads have now been reopened.
