A 42-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a Coleraine pensioner.

He is expected to appear at Ballymena Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

Mr Moffatt, 73, was walking home after buying a paper in a shop on Railway Road on 26 January 2001 when he was stabbed. He died two months later in hospital on 19 March.

A man was arrested in Stockport in England this week in connection with the murder.
