15-year-old attacked by gang in Mimosa Court, Derry

A 15-year-old boy has been assaulted by four masked men who were armed with hammers and what is believed to be a gun in County Londonderry.

The teenager was attacked at the rear of a house in Mimosa Court in Derry at about 22.45 BST on Saturday.

His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Police said they believed the gang escaped via a lane at the rear of Mimosa Court.

A PSNI spokesman said anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Strand Road Police Station on 0845 600 8000 or speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
