UUP leader Mike Nesbitt tries Eamonn Mallie impression
Mike Nesbitt has escaped the curse of a Devenport victory prediction and won by an even bigger margin than this humble scribe expected. My analysis of the challenge facing the new UUP leader appears elsewhere on the main website.
The Ulster Unionists knew they were buying a media personality, but did they know they were getting a trainee impressionist?
It seems to me that in this doorstep by the lifts in the Ramada Hotel in south Belfast, Mike decided to attempt an impromptu impersonation of veteran broadcaster Eamonn Mallie.
So did Mike get Eamonn off to a tee? Judge for yourself.

Hurray! Well done Mike Nesbitt! We all now stand the chance of rational good sense and discipline coming from the UUP. All the very best of luck to Mike.

Big mistake. He comes across as aggressive, impatient and full of his own self importance. Final nail in the coffin of the uup has just been hammered in.
