Pharmaceutical firm Eli Lilly creates 500 in Kinsale

Pharmaceutical firm Eli Lilly is to invest 330m euros in a new state-of-the-art facility in Kinsale in County Cork.

Two hundred permanent jobs will be created at the plant

There will also be another 300 temporary jobs during the construction phase.

The Labour Party TD for Cork South-West, Michael McCarthy, described the announcement as "highly significant".

"It will have a tangible, meaningful impact on the local economy in Kinsale, by boosting confidence in our local business environment and further putting the town on the map as an attractive hub for multi-national investment opportunities," he said.
