Couple treated after fire breaks out at Flax Street flat

A pregnant woman and a man have been treated for the effects of breathing in smoke after a cooker went on fire in the kitchen of a flat in Belfast.

Two fire crews attended the blaze in Flax Street which started shortly before 15:30 GMT on Sunday.

The man also suffered slight burns to his hand after trying to extinguish the flames.

Both were treated at the scene and brought to hospital for further treatment.
