Irish sea search for missing fisherman

A search is continuing for a fisherman missing from a County Down registered boat.

Emergency services were alerted shortly before 13:00 GMT when the man fell overboard, 19 miles east of the County Louth fishing village of Clogherhead.

He is missing from the Zenith boat which is registered in Kilkeel.

A spokesperson for the Irish Coastguard has confirmed that the man is a foreign national, believed to be from the Ukraine.

A helicopter search of the area has been stood down until Monday morning.

The Clogherhead lifeboat and up to nine other vessels will continue the search on Sunday until nightfall.
