A man has been banned from driving after a camera filmed a child standing up in the front of his car as he sped along a North Yorkshire road.

John Naisbitt, 66, of Devon Street, Hetton-le-Hole, pleaded guilty to speeding and carrying a passenger in a manner likely to cause danger.

He was fined £115 and banned from driving for six months by Northallerton Magistrates' Court.

Naisbitt was filmed doing 70 mph (113 km/h) in a 60mph (97 km/h) zone by a North Yorkshire Police mobile safety camera on 27 April on the A59 at Menwith Hill.
