Murder accused in court over Ripley stabbing

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man found stabbed in a car in North Yorkshire.

Mark Berney, 44, from Knaresborough, was discovered in the vehicle at Whipley Bank in Ripley, near Harrogate, at 21:30 BST on Sunday.

Oktay Kilic, 40, of Kent Road, Harrogate, was arrested on Monday.

Mr Kilic was remanded in custody by magistrates in Harrogate. He is due to appear at Leeds Crown Court on 8 August.
