Motorist killed as car and bus collide head-on near York

A motorist has been killed in a head-on collision with a bus.

The 45-year-old driver, who has not been named but was from Middlesbrough, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The crash happened at 18:00 BST on Wednesday on the A19 at Tollerton, near York.

The bus driver, a 52-year-old man from Malton, was also hurt but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, said North Yorkshire Police.
