Ex-soldiers from North Yorkshire have joined the 70th anniversary events in Normandy to remember the D-Day landings.

The seven men were teenagers or very young men when they went to France on the 6 June 1944

They have spent the two days revisiting the places where they fought and lost dear friends.

Among them was Ken Cooke, 88, from York, who said described landing on Gold beach as "bedlam" when "all hell let loose".
