Man killed in motorcycle crash near Hornby

A man died when his motorcycle was involved in a crash with a lorry in North Yorkshire.

The incident happen on a bend on the B1264 Yarm Road near the village of Hornby on Friday.

North Yorkshire Police said the man, believed to be in his 30s and from Redcar near Middlesbrough, died at the scene.

The road was closed until 22:00 BST to allow investigators to examine the scene.

Police said they believed the motorcyclist was travelling as part of a group but had been separated from the others at the time of the crash.

The driver of the lorry was not injured.
