Woman, 60, dies in car crash on A63 near Selby

A 60-year-old woman has died in a car crash in North Yorkshire.

She was driving towards York on the A63, near Selby, when her car and a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction collided at about 20:45 BST on Sunday.

The woman, from York, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said it could not confirm her identity.

A 25-year-old man, from Selby, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and is in custody for questioning.

Officers have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
