Attempted murder charge over High Hawsker pub stabbing

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing outside a pub in North Yorkshire.

The alleged attack took place outside the Hare and Hounds pub at High Hawsker, near Whitby, on Sunday night.

The 30-year-old victim, from Belper, Derbyshire, underwent surgery and remains in a stable condition.

A 31-year-old local man, charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article, will appear at Scarborough Magistrates' Court later.
