Police hunt driver after Knaresborough crash injures girls

Police want to speak to a driver involved in a crash which injured two teenagers outside a North Yorkshire school.

The girls, aged 15 and 16, suffered suspected broken bones in the collision on Halfpenny Lane, in Knaresborough, at 18.45 GMT on Friday.

The car, believed to be a dark Vauxhall Corsa, stopped briefly and a woman aged about 60 got out.

She did not say anything and drove off towards Chain Lane.

One of the girls had a broken bone in her foot and the other has a suspected broken wrist.

Witnesses to the crash should contact North Yorkshire Police.
