Burnholme Community College: York school site's future to be decided

Residents are being consulted on the future use of a York secondary school which is to close in August.

York City Council said was it closing Burnholme Community College due to falling student numbers.

Now people living in the Tang Hall area are being asked about plans to turn the site into a community resource.

Plans include a nursery and sports and arts facilities, as well as social and educational projects run by local churches.

The council said residents' comments would be presented to the cabinet meeting which will decide on the site's future.
