The funeral and memorial service for York student Megan Roberts have taken place in Harrogate.

Miss Roberts, 20, disappeared after a night out drinking with friends in York in January.

Her body was found in the River Ouse on 2 March following extensive underwater searches.

A private family funeral took place at Stonefall Crematorium earlier and a memorial service was held shortly after at St James's Church in Wetherby.

Miss Roberts was last seen on 23 January after an evening out with friends. CCTV recorded her on the corner of Rougier Street and Lendal Bridge in York at about 02:20 GMT.

North Yorkshire Police said at the time the most likely explanation for her disappearance was that she had been separated from her friends and had fallen into the river while under the influence of alcohol.
