Bellerby crash: Driver out of hospital but passengers 'critical'

A teenage driver who was airlifted to hospital after a car crash in North Yorkshire has been discharged after treatment.

But two passengers, aged 17 and 18, remain in a critical condition in hospital following the crash on Thursday near Bellerby.

The road was closed for seven hours after a Vauxhall Corsa carrying the three was in collision with a Mini.

Soldiers from a nearby firing range heard the crash and gave first aid.

The 17-year-old Vauxhall driver was treated at Leeds General Infirmary.

The two passengers were taken to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough.
