Yorkshire Marathon places 'sell-out' in ten minutes
All remaining places for the Yorkshire Marathon sold out within ten minutes of being made available on Monday morning, according to the event's organisers.
A limited number of pre-sale tickets sold out within five hours on Friday.
The event is organised by Jane Tomlinson's Run For All, which is named after the Leeds fundraiser who died of cancer in 2007.
Seven thousand runners will take part in the 26.2-mile (42km) event in York on 12 October.
The number of places had been increased by almost 1,000 for this year's event after all the places for last year's inaugural marathon were taken within 72 hours.
Organisers estimate the marathon, which passes through North and East Yorkshire, raised around £2m for charities.
Jane Tomlinson's Run For All already stages Leeds, York, Hull and Pennine-Lancashire 10k races and the Leeds half marathon.
Mrs Tomlinson raised more than £1.5m by completing a series of sporting challenges after being diagnosed with cancer in 2000.
