Firefighters called to Ripon fire station blaze

Firefighters in North Yorkshire were alerted to flames at one of their own stations when an automated alarm was triggered.

The fire, at Ripon Fire Station on Stonebridgegate, triggered an alarm system in the early hours.

One fire engine was badly damaged in the blaze and part of the building was also damaged.

A replacement engine has been brought in and crews are using a separate section of the building.
