A carer stole nearly £5,000 from an 87-year-old woman in York.
Felix James Bradley, 22, who worked as a carer for elderly people by providing home visits and support, withdrew £4,900 using the victim's cash card.
North Yorkshire Police said the woman was unable to use cash machines due to her disability.
Bradley, of Thoresby Road, York, pleaded guilty to fraud by false representation and will be sentenced at York Crown Court on 2 September.
Police said the offences happened over a two-month period in January.
He was arrested after the victim's daughter noticed the withdrawals and contacted police.
Pc Ray Milligan, of York Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "This man was placed in a position of trust to take care of the most vulnerable people in society and he went on to blatantly abuse that trust out of pure greed and selfishness."
