Three killed in North Yorkshire road crashes

Three people have died and one man has suffered serious injuries in separate crashes in North Yorkshire on Saturday.

A motorcyclist and car driver were killed when a Yamaha motorbike and Volkswagen car collided on the B1257 near Helmsley.

A second motorcyclist died on the B6265 near Ripon after his machine is thought to have hit a deer.

A milk tanker driver suffered serious injuries after his lorry overturned on the A1 near Catterick.

Those killed in the crash at Snilegate Head, near Helmsley, were a 45-year-old male motorcyclist from Redcar, Cleveland, and a 65-year-old woman from County Durham.

The second motorcyclist killed was a 60-year-old biker from Lancashire.
