Arrests over fatal biker crash on A171 in North Yorkshire

Two men have been arrested over a crash in North Yorkshire which left a motorcyclist dead.

The man, from Scarborough, was killed in a collision with a car on the A171 between Whitby and Scarborough at about 17:45 BST on Saturday.

Police said a 37-year-old man from Cleveland had been arrested after he fled from the car into nearby woods.

A 32-year-old man from Scarborough was also later arrested. Both are continuing to be questioned.

Police said the biker, who had not yet been named, was in his late 30s and died at the crash scene near to the Flask Inn.

Witnesses or anyone with information are being asked to contact North Yorkshire Police.
