A candle-lit vigil has been held on Scarborough's South Bay in memory of a teenager who was stabbed to death.
Michael Graham, 19, was stabbed near an amusement arcade on Foreshore Road a week ago.
His friends, family and other people who wanted to pay their respects lit a candle on the beach at 20:00 BST.
The Rev Samantha Foster, who organised the event, said people in the area had been shocked by the incident.
She said: "During a tragic time like this it's really important for the Church to show a response to the people who we have come across on the streets, mainly local residents, who are shocked by what's happened and are trying to come to terms with what's happened.
"This will attract a variety of people, faith and non-faith groups, that have been affected by the tragedy.
"This isn't just for church people, Christians, to get together and pray.
"The beach is a neutral territory and it's not far from where the incident happened."
A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with Mr Graham's murder.
He was also charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm on a 17-year-old, who remains in hospital.
The boy is being held in a youth detention centre and will appear at Leeds Crown Court on Wednesday.
