A 16-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of a teenager who was stabbed to death in Scarborough.

Michael Vincent Graham, 19, was attacked near amusement arcades on Foreshore Road just before midnight on Saturday.

A 17-year-old boy also suffered a serious leg injury during the incident.

North Yorkshire Police said the 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, would appear before Scarborough magistrates later.

He is also charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in relation to the 17-year-old victim.

Eight other teenagers arrested in connection with the investigation, five males and three females, have been released on bail while inquiries continue.
